Program Manager and Senior Expert at ACR+
Paolo Marengo is a Program Manager and Senior Expert at ACR+, specialising in waste management and circular economy. He is currently involved in several projects, such as FISSAC and RE4 (H2020 programme, concerning industrial symbiosis and circular solutions in the construction value chain), LCA4Regions (InterregEurope programme, about the implementation of the life cycle approach in regional policies), REthinkWASTE (Life programme, dealing with “Pay as you throw” and “Know as you throw schemes), WES (Water and Environment Support in the ENI Southern Neighbourhood region), CRIC (EuropAid project, dealing with a cooperation between cities and research centres in Europe, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, with resiliency and adaptation to climate change in the focus). He also drafts technical reports to support ACR+ members and carries out studies for the European institutions.
Paolo holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin. Before joining ACR+, Paolo was project manager (7+ years) in a consultancy firm, specialising in waste management projects, circular economy and climate change mitigation/adaptation plans addressed to public authorities (in Italy, France, Tunisia and Palestinian Territories) and private companies. Previously, he was involved in research projects (2+ years) dealing with biogas production and a cooperation WASH project (1+ year) in Burkina Faso.
