Pilot4DEV

PILOT4DEV is an independent initiative that connects stakeholders in the fields of Sustainable Development, Social Inclusion, and Resilience. Established in early 2018, it takes a multidisciplinary approach, addressing key issues such as governance, dialogue, cities’ transformation, civic and women’s rights, peace, stability, and the Sustainable Development Goals. The organization bridges the science/policy/practice interface by creating a network that includes researchers, NGOs, civil society organizations, and experts, fostering collaboration across borders and disciplines.

PILOT4DEV works with international researchers, NGOs, practitioners, and cities, bringing together passionate individuals and innovative initiatives. It builds upon past collaborations and ongoing projects, aiming to achieve better outcomes in sustainable development and resilience by connecting research, policy, and local international projects.

United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific

UCLG ASPAC, established on 14 April 2004 in Taipei, is a regional section of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG). It serves as the key knowledge hub for local government issues in the Asia-Pacific, representing over 7,000 cities and 3.76 billion people, including major developing nations like China, India, and Indonesia. UCLG ASPAC promotes collaboration among local governments, advocates for their political interests at the international level, and supports democratic local governance.

The organization focuses on critical issues such as local economic development, climate change, disaster resilience, decentralization, municipal finance, gender equality, and sustainable development. By building partnerships and capacity, UCLG ASPAC works to empower local governments and advance inclusive, equitable, and sustainable societies.

Association of Cities and Regions (ACR+) is an international network of cities and regions dedicated to promoting sustainable resource management practices. It encourages innovation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration, leading the way toward a circular economy where resources are used efficiently and waste is minimized.

Sub-national authorities play a vital role, forming strong partnerships with diverse stakeholders. Members have access to best practices, tools, and expertise that help local and regional authorities implement effective waste management and resource recovery strategies. Through partnerships, training, and policy advocacy, ACR+ significantly advances sustainable resource management in Europe and beyond.

European Network for Community-Led Initiatives on Climate Changes

ECOLISE is the European Network for Community-Led Initiatives on Climate Change and Sustainability, founded in 2014. It supports community-led initiatives, networks, and partners to drive systemic transformation in society. These initiatives are self-organized efforts by communities working towards environmental and social goals, such as transition movements, permaculture projects, ecovillages, energy communities, and local sharing economies.

ECOLISE believes in the solutions being developed by these initiatives across Europe and the world, which address critical ecological, social, economic, and political challenges. By focusing on inner growth, inclusive collaboration, governance of the commons, and ecosystem stewardship, ECOLISE seeks to amplify the impact of community-led initiatives and bring their demands to the EU level.

Université Gustave Eiffel (UGE)

Université Gustave Eiffel (UGE), established in 2020 in Champs-sur-Marne, Île-de-France, is the result of the merger of several higher education institutions and is named in honor of the famous engineer Gustave Eiffel. The university focuses on fields such as urban planning, transportation, infrastructure, and environmental technology, with strengths in research and education in engineering, city planning, mobility, and sustainable development.

UGE is known for its collaboration with industry and government to develop solutions for future urban and transportation challenges. The university is also actively involved in various international programs related to climate change, smart mobility, and sustainable infrastructure development.

All India Institute of Local Self-Government (AIILSG)

Established in 1926, the All India Institute of Local Self-Government (AIILSG) has been a key player in urban governance, education, research, and capacity building, training over 1.5 million stakeholders in urban governance and service delivery. With 30 regional centers across India, it supports municipal officials and elected members through the Regional Centre of Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES), a collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). AIILSG also runs specialized institutes for capacity building in areas such as fire safety, nursing, disaster management, and solid waste management, while expanding its focus to rural and tribal governance.

AIILSG organizes seminars, conferences, and projects to foster debate and policy advocacy on urban issues, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders including grassroots organizations, NGOs, governments, and international bodies. It has conducted capacity-building programs in South Asia, Africa, and other regions, with partnerships with international organizations like UNDP, UNICEF, and WHO. Additionally, AIILSG is the anchor institution for the Urban Management Programme (UMP) for South Asia, supporting the development of urban management strategies regionally and globally.

Partnerships for Sustainable Cities

Partnerships for Sustainable Cities is a global initiative that aims to create inclusive, resilient and sustainable cities. Focusing on collaboration between cities, the program helps create innovative solutions to urban challenges such as climate change, waste management, and green transportation. Through financial support, knowledge sharing and community engagement, Partnerships for Sustainable Cities brings the vision of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into action.

Launched as part of efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), Partnerships for Sustainable Cities connects local governments, community organizations, and global partners to create better cities. The program has supported projects that focus on improving the quality of life of urban communities, disaster risk reduction, and environmental protection, making it one of the key initiatives in global urban transformation.
